All the standardized tests and so on is doing nothing but teaching them how to remember things just for a test and never think about it again.
The No Child Left Behind act focuses on the student teacher relationship too much, making it seem like it's the teachers' fault for all things that kids don't know or forget. But what about the things that could be going o in the child's life like poverty, depression, and neglect from parents peers and other things. Why doesn't the NCLB ACT single out these factors and create the NCLB Act around those kinds of things. Let's face in Most urban schools may never catch up to rural and suburban schools, due to the lack of funds, the way that the children act and the fact that everyone already thinks that they are stupid to begin with. Has anyone ever thought that it is not the teachers fault, the schools fault, but to look at the parents and their situations before making a teacher and the school accountable for the students actions.
The NCLB Act has not proven to be working as written in the bill, but proven in other ways to make it work. This should tell everyone something, that this crap does not work.
I found that a teacher has posted some things about the NCLB act on ther blog the address is http://damnthatscool.com/Comments.asp?BlogID=517. According to him he was up at 5 o' clock in the morning prepping himself.
P. Diddy said that he made history with a lot of young people voting, but that was just in New York, he admitted that many minorities and young people didn't vote this election but he said that many people came up to him and admitted that they were first time voters and that they did it because of him.
So in some way it did work, but it really didn't work in his favor.
P. Diddy wanted Bush out of office, what happened, Bush is still here. P. Diddy has recognized his faults in influencing people to vote, and that is not to take sides. To me that is the main concept of running an organization that is world wide in order to get a variety of different people to vote. And to get avariety of differ communities involved.
P. Diddy acnoledged the fact the Choose or Lose and Rock the vote help out his campaign alot but was it them that let P.Diddy down, or do people not like to vote? Especially minority or young people when they should have the say for their future. P. Diddy had alot to say about his campaign so you can got to, http://www.mtv.com/chooseorlose/headlines/news.jhtml?id=1493383 to find out more. The election went well, but it would have benn better if Kerry won and more people (young people) voted.

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://stephanie225.blogspot.com/2004/11/did-vote-or-die-work.html' title='Did Vote or Die work? Is that so?
Jay-Z, Eminem, P.Diddy, and many, many more Hip-Hop artist launched "Choose or Lose Presents: "Vote or Die!" you can read up on it at <a href="<a">Jay-Z, Eminem Rally Hip-HopFans on 'Vote or Die' Special. But does it really work? Do young Hip-Hop fans really want to hear their favorite talk about politics , or do they want them to rap? As much as these celebrities are pushing 'Vote or Die' it should work.
This special was really dedicated to people who do love hip-hop and who live in those cities or whatever, that don't take politics seriously, especially in the HOOD. Jay-z said, "most of the hip-hop fans live in the urban areas and those are the areas that don't vote." Jay -Z said that the reasons for voting is for change, while Eminem's reasons are totally different. Eminem stated that the election is a way to express ourselves as voters as he expresses himself in his music.
I really don't listen to hip-hop, but I'm about tired of hearing about 'Vote or Die'. I kind of think that this would work, but it is always those knotheads that don't care. As much as this is being talked about I believe many young voters have a change of heart to vote.
P.Diddy is one of the main spokesmen that runs 'Vote or Die' and according to him, it is our choice this year. Hip-Hop has made a break through with "Vote or Due" for the simple fact that more then just urban people listen to, more then hoodrats, and project pimps... Suburban people listen to it, country people listen to it. Hip-Hop is mainstream America now days. Even politians have taken it to the head to get young peoples attention. I believe it will work.
To learn more about 'Vote or Die' you can also visit,Citizen Change at http://www.citizenchange.com/site/pp.asp?c=kkJ2JeO0F&b=140819

And there off!!!???

Debate one of the presidential election is over. What did you think?
I thought it could have been a little more then what it was. I think that the debate was okay. I was expecting a little more then what I got.
This is going to be my first presidential election, and before know, I never even watched the debates. But now it is time for me to make a change.
Listening to the remarks and comments, going back and for the , from Bush to Kerry and Kerry to Bush, kind of made me think of me and my brother fighting. Some of the comments made, I believe things shouldn't have been said, like "Wrong war, wrong place, wrong time" by Bush, for about 50 million times through the whole debate, maybe once would have done the job! Why was the whole debate over the war in Iraq. It took them a while to even bring up other thing like Russia, Sudan, and North Korea.
At this point, I believe that the candidates still have not made up there minds about what they want to do for our country. Because Bush doesn't have a plan, and Kerry doesn't know what plan he wants to choose. Other then the fact that Kerry was short spoken and Bush was speechless during most of the debate. I feel that it was kind of pointless to watch. I know what someone else thought about this debate, here is a website Kerry vs Bush

Choose or Lose

What do we think of when we hear or say or even think Choose or Lose?
If you think of nothing, then I'm going to make you think of something!
Choose or Lose is one of the biggest politically correct thing that could ever happen to youth and young adults.
Mtv presents Choose or Lose, is an event that gets youth and young adults to put in their "two cents" about what is going on in the world and in the U.S.
You can go to the website, Choose or Lose, to put in your two cents or to find out more information about the events going on within Choose or Lose. Choose or lose, offers opportunities for young adults and youth to participate in many contests and allows them to get involved and feel like they are adults by being the ones to address issues and to make possible changes around their community and/or around the U.S.
As most people now more and more people want to get the young adults and youth to get invoved in politics, expecially this year. We as young adults are in charge of who we put in office and Choose or lose has made it where we as youth and young adults understand what is going on and has let us come together as a whole to comment and maybe even do something about what we comment on!

Define Love

My audiance for this blog is people who have had love or have been in love, and for those who don't really know what love is. i am using tactics like example, description, and classififcation.

Love. A feeling that you can't describe. A feeling of being secure, being free. A lot of people have said they have not been in love, but I'm sure that everyone has had love for something or someone in their life time. For example a child that pesters her brother all the time, that is the way that she shows him her love. What about the love between two people that are inseparable, and don't realize their feelings for one another, until one day they do separate. Love can be described in many ways, shapes and forms. When it all boils down, love is what we share. Love is a way of connection and a way of trust, discipline and arguments.
Love can be unintentional, and we can grow into our feelings, we can also grow from it. Like not wanting to be drafted in the army, but you did and you got out. You loved your time in the army ever since you've been home relaxing. Love is a fondness for something, almost like a fetish. Keeping up with celebrities and being able to recite a favorite song is an example of love. So when you say you never been in love, or you don't know what love is, think of the time you were disciplined by your mother or father, think of the times you said that you loved a song, or even your favorite television show. Think of the time you though a boy or girl was so fine and you had to have them. Now that you have that person, how do you feel? Is it love or is it infatuation?
According to the dictionary love is defined as, 1) a powerful emotion felt for another person manifesting itself in deep affection, devotion or sexual desire. 2) to feel passion for or be fond of.
So no matter what it could be. He or she, everyone will be loved!
